There are beautiful aromas of bursting cherry, raspberry and boysenberry. The best part comes mid palate when the earthy and minerally notes hit with fervor. The finish is long, slightly dry, and structured. I think this is a fresh and light red that is great for warmer weather, especially if you get this wine down to a cool 65 degrees. It has a serious punch that hold up to quite a few different pairings. When I sip this wine I crave Neapolitan pizza with prosciutto and olive oil, or baked Brie with nuts, honey and fresh fruit.
The nose is bright with notes of vanilla, baking spices, black berries, and blueberry pie. The wine is smooth as velvet with cassis, plum, and baked blueberries coating the mouth with rich soft fruit. Hints of clove, sage, and cinnamon lead to a long and satisfying finish.
